AAPI HERITAGE MONTH AT WHISKEY TAVERN

Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month: A Night of Community and Culture with Chinatown Social and Whiskey Tavern

This past May, Chinatown Social and Whiskey Tavern teamed up to host a very special AAPI Heritage Month event right in the heart of Chinatown. It was a night filled with pride, celebration, and community — all centered around honoring the deep roots and rich heritage of our neighborhood.

Held at the beloved Whiskey Tavern, the event brought together friends, neighbors, and supporters for a night of music, drinks, and meaningful connection. Attendees weren't just celebrating AAPI Heritage Month; they were also taking part in something bigger — a movement to help preserve the spirit and story of Chinatown for generations to come.

Through ticket sales and generous support from everyone who attended, we collectively raised $1,050 in donations. These funds went directly to Welcome to Chinatown, a grassroots organization dedicated to sustaining Chinatown’s small businesses, cultural institutions, and community spaces. Every dollar helps deepen Chinatown’s roots, uplift local voices, and build a stronger, more vibrant future for our community.

At its core, the event wasn’t just about raising money — it was about celebrating who we are. It was a reminder that every gathering, every effort, every dollar, and every moment spent honoring our heritage makes a lasting impact. The evening was filled with energy and joy, but also with the underlying understanding that Chinatown’s story is still being written — and we all have a hand in shaping it.

We are so grateful to everyone who showed up to support, celebrate, and stand with us. Special thanks to Whiskey Tavern for opening their doors and hearts to this cause, and to Welcome to Chinatown for continuing to lead the charge in protecting the soul of our neighborhood.

This event was just one chapter of a bigger journey. As we move forward, Chinatown Social remains committed to fostering spaces that bring our community together, celebrate our culture, and protect the rich history that built the very streets we walk on.

Here’s to many more nights of pride, purpose, and community.
